Recitation
As a Welshwoman, I am proud of my heritage. I am proud of our customs.
This year, Bel has been asked whether she would learn a poem for the Eisteddfod yr Urdd. The Eisteddfod is a family friendly festival, celebrating the Welsh language and culture as well as a showcase of young, Welsh talent.
Now, I'm not a pushy parent but this is something that I would love for her to do. She speaks Welsh as a second language (and not as her first langauge as it is with me) and she has always been afraid that its not good enough. But, to be asked to recite a poem I think for her will make her feel stronger in her ability to speak her mother tongue.
Tomorrow, we will get her poem and then the learning begins...
